Integrative Nurse Practitioner & Nutrition Services

At The Breastfeeding Center of Greater Washington, we’re expanding our care to include Integrative Family Nurse Practitioner services — combining advanced clinical expertise with the compassionate, personalized support our families know and trust.

Our FNP and IBCLCs work collaboratively to deliver interdisciplinary care that supports lactation, breast and nipple health, infant feeding difficulties, and potential breastfeeding- related infant allergies and sensitivities.

Supporting Families Through Every Feeding Journey

For some families, feeding challenges go beyond latch or supply. Breastfed babies may experience digestive discomfort, fussiness, skin irritation, or other signs of breastmilk allergy/sensitivity, leaving parents feeling unsure about what’s causing the problem.

We offer personalized guidance through elimination diets and safe food reintroductions, helping you discover what works best for your baby’s digestion and comfort while maintaining parental health and milk supply.

Lactating Breast Health & Integrative Clinical Care

Our co-management services also include:

  • Engorgement assessment and management strategies to promote comfort, regulated milk production, and protect breast tissue health

  • Mastitis spectrum evaluation and treatment, including early identification and management of inflammatory processes, evaluation and treatment of infectious processes, and evidence-based interventions to restore balance and comfort

  • Care for lactation-associated nipple conditions, including evaluation and management of pain, trauma, or latch-related concerns

  • Individualized care plans that integrate medical management, lactation expertise, and holistic wellness guidance

Our goal is to make sure you feel supported every step of the way — with compassionate care, clear guidance, and a plan that fits your family’s unique needs.
