Our Services

Consultations

Here at the Breastfeeding Center we are highly committed to providing thorough and continued support throughout your breastfeeding years. We all know that breastfeeding is a journey with twists and turns, and we’re here for you every step of the way. And while breastfeeding is natural, sometimes professional help from one of our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) is advised. We offer our support through classes, peer support groups, and telehealth consultations, office visits (yours or ours!), and home visits.

Shop

Our shop is fully stocked with all-things breastfeeding, pumping, and early parenting. We have a curated selection of products that we feel are most supportive of the breastfeeding relationship. Not sure what bottles to get? Pacifiers? Swaddles? Which baby carrier is best for your needs? We have several good options for each! And we’d be more than happy to chat with you about which one you might want. Or to work through what you might need and what you don’t–what could be a game changer for you, and what to hold off on. We’re not here to sell you things, we’re here to help you find the objects that are going to best support your journey. All with 1-day free shipping within the DMV!

Classes

We offer a wide range of free and low-cost classes for expectant, new and experienced mothers of newborns to toddlers. Our classes are taught by our IBCLCs or instructors that are highly qualified in their respective fields. Please register through our calendar! Babies are always welcome to come to class! Our free classes can be crowded due to our no turn away policy; please register in advance. If payment is a hardship, please call and ask our Program Director for options. All of the classes described below can be taught privately one-on-one or for a small group by one of our IBCLCs or instructors.

Milk Bank

The Breastfeeding Center is associated with the Mother’s Milk Bank at Austin, which is a member of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA). A HMBANA milk bank screens and tests its donors, pasteurizes and then tests (cultures) the milk prior to bottling for shipment.
